Nga Whare Rau o Te Tahinga
The seven marae within the rohe kainga of Nuhaka are represented here as a taniko pattern ‘aronui’ – which refers to the pursuit of knowledge about the natural world and also knowledge regarding tikanga, including; manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga. The marae is the meeting ground that beckons its descendants to attain knowledge.
Nuhaka
The greenery is representative of Papatūānuku, the Earth mother. It also refers to the whenua in which Rakaipaaka presides.
